Jazz up a plain bulletin board
Bulletin boards are an essential for the home office, but they’re certainly not very attractive. However, with a little bit of work, you can easily make a bulletin board that’s both pretty and functional.
One way to jazz up a plain bulletin board is to simply cover it with a piece of decorative fabric, using hot glue to secure the fabric to the frame. You won’t need a lot of fabric for this project, so you can look for cheap material in the remnant bin at your local craft store. In my office, I used a dark green paisley print to make the board “pop” against my light green walls.
Another great way to decorate a bulletin board is to make a border around the edges using scrapbooking rub-ons. You can spell out a name, write a favorite quote, or make a decorative design. To display artwork in my son’s room, I decorated a plain bulletin board with Thomas & Friends train rub-ons purchased from my local Dollar Tree.
